Nutrition Quickie:  Trans Fat Danger

I am Registered Dietitian Jayson Hunter and here is your Nutrition Quickie for today.  Apply it and strengthen your nutritional foundation with multiple Quickies like this.

This is a man-made fat that has been strongly linked to heart disease and inflammation.

It is called artificial trans-fats.

They have largely been banned in the US, but some foods still contain this fat such as vegetable shortening, certain margarines and vegetable oils, non-dairy coffee creamers and most fried foods.

Be sure to read food labels and check ingredients for partially hydrogenated oils when buying foods.
